GrindTec 2012: Europe’s top trade fair for grinding technology surpasses all expectations

GrindTec 2012 was a big success: + 25 % growth in the amount of exhibition area booked, 12 % more exhibitors, 22 % more visitors, plus the best results for the exhibitors and the best assessment by the visitors since its premiere in the year 1998.

And the 13,732 visitors, 89% of whom were top class decision-makers, came with the best of moods and ready to invest, and bestowed the best possible business to the companies represented at the GrindTec.

Best results for the exhibitors

The 450 exhibitors (2010: 404) gave the absolutely best possible marks when they assessed their participation: For 23% it was "very good", for 57% it was "good", and a further 16% were "satisfied".

The trade fair follow-up business was also expected to be more positive than ever: 50% are expecting "very good" or "good" and 45% are expecting "satisfactory" follow-up business. So it is no surprise to hear that only one per cent of exhibitors answered "no" when asked whether they would be exhibititing at the GrindTec again.

GrindTec visitors: highly competent decision-makers from all over the world

In the opinion of the 13,732 visitors the GrindTec is the worldwide leading trade fair for this sector (80%), and therefore 48% (2010: 44%) of them now only visit the GrindTec in order to find information on innovations and the latest trends in grinding technology.

GrindTec visitors are without exception experts in the field of grinding technology, and the large majority of them have a lot to say within their companies: 89% of them are decision-makers or are involved in decision making.

The selection of exhibits presented at the GrindTec is assessed by 90% of the visitors as “very good” or “good”.
Record proportions has also reached another important result of the visitors' survey: 61% of the visitors are planning an investment in the immediate future, and here the GrindTec serves to finalise this decision. Even in boom years such as 2008 such results were not reached - then it was "only" 47 %.
And once again the internationality factor of the GrindTec has increased: In 2012, 28% of the 13,732 visitors came from outside Germany, whereby overall guests coming from more than 50 countries were registered.
