9th GrindTec-Update: Let´s start the engine again!

Dear Sir or Madam,

at the beginning of the week the Mechanical Engineering Industry (VDMA) demanded that trade fairs have to get going again, and our GrindTec update also starts this week with the call: Let's start the engine again! Use the GrindTec to keep your business going.

In this newsletter we would like to inform you about the latest developments concerning entry requirements for participants at German trade fairs. The Federal Ministry of the Interior has again emphasized that participation in a trade fair is an important reason for travelling.

We wish you good preparation for the trade fair and will be happy to answer any questions you may have in personal discussions!

Dirk Wember
Haas Schleifmaschinen

“GrindTec is the leading trade fair for grinding technology. We cannot afford missing it. Out of respect for our customers and the community alone, it is impossible for us to turn our backs on GrindTec, also and especially in times when the wind blows in our faces. We are happy to lead the way, technologically of course, but also with our share of responsibility for this industry, which inspires and feeds us all. Haas is bursting with energy and innovation. We are showing our customers and interested parties the way into the next productivity cycle."

Marcus Steudel
Maschinen GmbH

"From November 10, GrindTec 2020 will be exactly the right place to experience the newly developed innovations of J. SCHNEEBERGER Maschinen AG. Besides machine development, it was the subject of CAD/CAM software and databases for the creating yor own grinding program as easily as possible, that attracted lots of attention in the recent past. As a result, ergonomics and efficiency of grinding have been redefined and significantly improved.

As the world's leading trade fair for the grinding industry, GrindTec 2020 will provide impulses. Even under these conditions, we expect important signals from this GrindTec to strengthen our sector. This not only for the exhibitors, but also for the visitors, whom we are very much looking forward to. They will feel the upswing that is already evident in all the indices. Here, the safety of the visitors and the stand personnel is very important for both the trade fair operator and for us. Thanks to the hygiene concept developed for GrindTec, which includes the permanent exchange of the hall air with 100% fresh air, more is done here than in many a supermarket or restaurant."

Dr. Claus Itterheim,
Managing Director of ISBE GmbH

"Despite digital means of communication, face-to-face discussions are still a high priority for ISBE GmbH. In personal exchange we find proximity to business partners and customers, and thus the right concepts for a future-oriented digitalization of their businesses".

Jochen Wagner
Managing Director
MAW Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH

"The German industry is in crisis mode. But the current rigidity of the shock must be overcome quickly to avert further damage. The GrindTec is therefore taking place at exactly the right time to make a fresh start. Thanks to this network platform for innovations in precision, digital solutions and automation, the visitor lays the foundation for the competitiveness of tomorrow.

The challenges for German industry have rarely been greater. Not only the pandemic but also technological change is setting the pace for the world of tomorrow. There is an enormous need for discussion in the industry. As a knowledge and networking platform, the GrindTec 2020 offers a unique forum for answers and solutions in precision, digitalisation and automation in grinding technology".

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wilfried Saxler
Managing Director FDPW
German Association of Precision Tool Grinders

"The mood is rising noticeably. According to the ifo Business Climate Index, German entrepreneurs continue to assess the current situation as better than in previous months. They are looking ahead to the coming period with optimism and hope for better business. And where do you do business? At trade fairs! This is precisely why GrindTec has the potential of putting our sector back on the road to success. It creates space to physically connect products, services and people again after a long time. I am very pleased about this, because lively exchange and personal interaction are immensely important – especially if new things are to be developed and times of crisis overcome. To ensure that all this succeeds, AFAG and Messe Augsburg have drawn up a coherent hygiene and safety concept. In this way, we can finally meet again - in compliance with the rules of the game - and spread a spirit of optimism for the entire industry. See you in Augsburg".
