GrindTec 2020: Unbroken Run for Leading Trade Fair of Grinding Technology / 80 Percent of the Exhibition Space already booked

Augsburg – It acts like a magnet for suppliers of grinding technology. More precisely: like a very strong magnet! 80 percent of the areas reserved for the GrindTec have now been allocated. More than 500 exhibitors from 28 countries registered already, including the leading machine manufacturers. What is striking is that the top companies in grinding technology will be represented almost completely with enlarged exhibition stands. Insiders conclude that more innovations will be presented at GrindTec 2020 than ever before. One thing is certain in any case: with an occupied area of 53,000 m2, the upcoming GrindTec will be the largest so far!

Exhibitors: Top-5-Nations the same as ever

There are (still) no changes in the ranking of the most important exhibitor nations. Germany ranks first with 60 percent, followed by Switzerland, Italy, China and the USA. In total, these countries account for 86 percent of all exhibitors (2018: 88 percent). The trend towards internationalisation of the GrindTec is clear. The still modest share of foreign exhibitors of 13 percent at the premiere, increased with each event. In 2010, it already amounted to 35 percent. In 2018, 43 percent of the companies came from abroad. This development is also reflected in the number of nations represented: in 1998, just 6 countries were represented at the start, and at GrindTec 2018 there were already 30. Ultimately, it is this ever-increasing participation of grinding technology companies from all over the world that is driving the growth of the industry's leading forum.

On the advance: Asian grinding technology suppliers increasingly rely on GrindTec

The increasing internationalisation of GrindTec is mainly due to the steadily growing interest of Asian companies. A few years ago, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and India were still exotic among the dominating European exhibitors. Together, they will occupy around ten percent of the total exhibition space in 2020. Exhibitors from these five countries have already registered twice as much stand space as in July 2018.

Planning of the exhibition halls is almost done

The division of the exhibition halls has largely been completed, about 20 percent of the total space are still available. The GrindTec project management recommends interested companies to register as soon as possible in order to secure a little room for manoeuvre in the placement.
