GrindTec 2020: World’s leading trade fair in grinding technology from 18 to 21 March 2020 in Augsburg
Augsburg – The past GrindTec 2018 was the most successful one so far. With 19,100 visitors the GrindTec achieved a third best result following the new exhibitor and exhibition area records. The organizer AFAG was particularly pleased at the excellent results of the 645 exhibitors, established by Gelszus Trade Fair Markt Research, Dortmund: 92% of the companies represented assessed their participation at the trade fair as “very good”, “good” or “satisfactory”. There are also great expectations with regard to the follow-up business: 74% of the firms evaluate it as “very good” or “good”, 20% as “satisfactory”.
Growing internationalization of the GrindTec public
Clear trend: the GrindTec public is becoming increasingly more initernational. In 2018 the proportion of foreign guests rose from 29% to 38%; 65 countries were represented in Augsburg. And the visitor assessment of the GrindTec was just as excellent as two years ago: 72% assssed their visit to the trade fair as “very good” or “good”, and a further 24% as “satisfactory”. Parallel to the internationality of the guests, the proportion of decision-makers is also growing: in 2018 84% were “sole” or “co-decision” makers or involved at least in an “advisory” capacity. Their evaluation of the trade fair offer is excellent: 78% assessed it as “very good” or “good” and a further 19% are at least “satisfied”.
Export: Germany’s mechanical engineers defy trade conflicts
German mechanical engineers, whose exports were even able to increase in the first six months of 2018 against the strong figures of the previous year, are unimpressed by international trade conflicts. That the mood of the branch is still excellent was shown during the past GrindTec, where exhibitors and visitors assessed the current situation more positively than for a long time.
GrindTec 2020: Premiere for the new exhibition hall 2
The Augsburg Exhibition Centre has recently invested greatly in the development of its grounds. In 2010 the new halls 5 and 6 were completed and in 2010 hall 4 was replaced by a new building. In 2020 the GrindTec will be able to use the new hall 2 for the first time. With an area of 8,000 square metres and a usable height of 10 metres it is then the largest hall in the Augsburg Exhibition Centre. Pillar-free and air-conditioned, it provides a completely new sense of space in comparison to the old, much smaller hall used in 2018.
